Educational Structure Overview

UNICA School for Autism serves learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across a broad developmental range, specifically from ages 6 to 21. The school follows the DCAPS curriculum using an individualised teaching approach.

Educational Structure Overview

  • Foundation Phase (Ages 6–11): Focuses on foundational communication, sensory integration, and social interaction skills.
  • Intermediate Phase (Ages 12–13): Emphasizes functional academics, structured routines, and life skills development.
  • Senior Phase (Ages 14–18): Prepares learners for greater independence, and focuses on skills training.
  • Exit Phase (Ages 19-21): Focuses on transition planning for life after school.

Each phase is supported by a multi-disciplinary team and uses structured teaching methods like TEACCH and ACE, which organizes classrooms into clearly defined areas for individual work, group activities, and play.
